We call this box “The Keeper”.
Those darker swirls on the front of this “Keeper” are mineral deposits. When water is drawn up into the tree, the mineral deposits remain in the wood.
The “lip” on this box is actually a red wood called Bloodwood. It will never change color, it will always be red. All of this combined with the Bubinga Lid makes a very stunning box.
I have a Keeper on my dresser; it’s a great place for my keys, watch, wallet, etc. My wife, Charlie, gave it to me and it makes me happy every time I look at it.
– Lip on the lid acts as a finger grip as well as a very attractive trim piece
Velvet lining gives the Keeper Keepsake Box a plush appearance.
– Rounded corners and edges along with the velvet lining gives the Keeper a smooth, luscious feel.
– Many Uses. Gentleman’s box for holding wallet, watches, keys, pens, etc. Stationary box for holding letters, stamps, paper, address labels, etc. Remote control box, holds several remote controls.
– Structural integrity. Wooden splines, or biscuits which are hidden in the mitered corners add much stability to the box. The Veneer lid is vacuum pressed onto a 1/2 inch substrate and will never warp.
